Kitchen scales are due for an update. Taro was an experiment to combine a standard kitchen and produce scale with digital & connected functionalities. Taro is meant to be used in messy kitchens and busy produce markets.

The main form feature is the removable lid. Can either be used as a basket to keep small items from moving around, or as extra protection in messy weighing environments.

The form is meant to communicate sanitation mixed with premium quality. The combination of polycarbonate and stainless stell communicates quality, while the backlit plastic with a subtle texture gives the base a utilitarian quality.
